THINHSTUDIO PRESENTS - VIDEOTAG & DE COLORES

Opening: Saturday, September 6 2014, from 6 – 10 pm
Exhibition: September 6 -13 2014 by appointment
Location: 13709 Cordary Ave. #14, Hawthorne CA 90250

Only on the opening night September 6 from 6-10 PM thinhstudio inaugurates – Videotag event – where the entire facade of the industrial complex will be "tagged" with video projections. The event is a convergent between public art, graffiti art, and video art curated by Thinh Nguyen showcasing a group of international artists including, Michele Beck, Tom Blanchard, Jorge Calvo, McLean Fahnestock, Mathiew Greenfield, Zoe Gruni, Jenny Herrick, Michael Powell, David Prince, Cindy Rehm, Enid Baxter Ryce, Yoshie Sakai, Christine Wang, and Kim Ye.

Co-currently exhibiting inside Thinhstudio– De Colores – curated by Tania Jazz Alvarez, featuring local LA artists including, Andrew Garside, Leah Gloria, Katie Grip, Whitney Hanlon, Mihyang Kim, Mike McLain, and Kevin Moore. According to guest curator Alvarez, the show "starts and ends with color… today we unapologetically celebrate color, in all its glory!"

Neighboring artists in the complex will also open their studios during the reception event, making it an "art block party" going experience. The event will include curbside food truck catering for patrons as well as refreshments and drinks, where attendees can indulge in an evening of art, cocktails and socializing. Attendees can interact with the art and watch over 10 projections tagging throughout the entire building.

"I didn't know there is an art scene in Hawthorne. This is the best thing I've been to in the longest time. And you know what, its never too far to support a new art scene un-stifled by the artworld," said an attendee from Thinhstudio's last event that drew in record crowds. So come and be the one to witness the thriving enclave of cultural activities at thinhstudio.
